tree [vol. 05]

audio-video installation

Gallery Klenová, Klenová, Czech Republic
May - July 2008

‘tree [vol. 05]‘ is the recording of a small twig of the oak tree in front of the granary,
one of Gallery Klenová's exhibition spaces in Klenová, Czech Republic.
Its’ movement was recorded at noon on May 12, using the infra-red camera of a wii-remote,
an infra-red led mounted on the twig, a Bluetooth connection, and MaxMSP program,
for to register and draw the incoming real-time data.
Six twig-movement registrations are rendered into a 22’ minutes video loop.

The audio 'tree [vol. 05]' is the live recording of the fluids running through the stem of the oak tree,
with the help of a stethoscope, a second, amplifying mic, and a MaxMSP program for to tune into the fluids’ pitch.

For the audio-video installation two recordings are mixed into a stereo sound track,
which builds the audio installation for ‘tree [vol. 05]’.
